In its 42 year history, donors to the St. Joe's Holiday Ball have contributed more than $21.5 million for programs and services that benefit our community. This year's event, Lights, Camera, Action! will benefit the hospital’s $10 million "Life is Remarkable" Campaign to transform cancer care for patients and their families at the Robert H. and Judy Dow Alexander Cancer Center.
2018 St. Joe's Holiday Ball Beneficiary:
• Inspired by St. Joe's patients, the Dow Alexander Cancer Center redesign is focused on pioneering research, innovative approaches to treatment and care, access, and most importantly, a remarkable patient experience. With patient volumes having tripled to 3,500 annually the need to focus in these areas is paramount.
• Today, St. Joe's medical teams lead one of the nation's busiest robotic surgery programs and Michigan’s first CyberKnife® to treat inoperable tumors.
• The project also includes a new research suite to serve the 5,000 patients being followed through St. Joe's research program – Southeast Michigan's only National Cancer Institute program. The research team is proud to be leading investigational treatments 3-4 years before others including immuno- and gene therapies.
• The renewed Dow Alexander Cancer Center will also feature a new chemotherapy suite with private infusion bays, onsite pharmacy and laboratory, state-of-the-art education center and support care services such as financial navigators, social workers and nutritionists.
• In addition, gifts to the Holiday Ball will provide ongoing support of the nurse navigator program, offering personalized care, coordinated appointments, education and health management.
Event Leadership Include:
