Building Blocks: Licensed Food Production

Growing Hope runs free Building Blocks for the Local Food Entrepreneur workshops focused on finances, licensing, marketing, food safety, and other skills that allow startup businesses or farmers market vendors to grow their businesses.

Learn about the process and steps it takes to developing a licensed food business. Heather Duncan from the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) will speak about the different licensing options and how you can get your dream food business started. Elisa Marroquin, Growing Hope’s MarketPlace & Incubator Kitchen Manager, will talk specifics about renting Growing Hope’s Incubator Kitchen and provide a tour of the space.

This is a mid level workshop, geared for people who already have a food-based business, or are seriously planning on starting one.
